The Halloween Party by Amanda Kane
I always enjoy going to a Halloween party and look forward to going to the Service Club at Silverknowes.
Two year's ago we had a really good time. I dressed up as an evil witch. I was wearing a hat, a black cloak, dark makeup and I held a broomstick and a cauldron for my spells. My Dad picked me up in his car. Everybody but Dad was dressed up, he didn't really like dressing up. Mum was dressed up as a skeleton and looked really scary, Mum's friend Janette was wearing a witch costume and her friend Isobel was dressed up like a pumpkin and looked funny.
When we arrived it was very busy and warm. There were black and orange coloured streamers hanging everywhere and pumpkin candles on the tables. We played musical statues, a game where when the music stops you have to freeze like a statue, if you wobble then you're out. The best statue won a prize. It was great fun. I could smell stovies and soup cooking and began to feel hungry. When the food was ready we all sat down and had our meal.
The band played great music and people got up and danced. There was a prize for the best dancer. At the end of the evening, there was a prize for the best costume.
I am looking forward to this year's Halloween party at the Service Club.
