The Best Day of My Life by Euan Moffat
We went under the massive arch that had ‘Universal Studios' written on it. The line was massive, as you would expect when going into the greatest theme park in the world.
Eventually (after about an hour of queuing) we went into the park. The thing that hits you the most is the sheer size of the place. The first thing that my family and I did was make a bee line towards the nearest food vendor, which just happened to be a pretzel bar. Unlike in Britain pretzels in America are large, salt covered, doughy things.
The first ride that we went on was ‘The Duelling Dragons'. These were two massive rollercoasters that were on two different tracks and had ‘near misses' with each other. I went for the first ride to see if it would be okay for my little sister to go on. Second time round I went on my Mum and Lauren (my little sister) went on. My Dad did not go on as he has this thing about not wanting to go on fast rides. This was Lauren's first big rollercoaster so she was really proud of herself for going on it.
After that we went to the ‘Jurassic Park' area. My little sister and I went into the line for the Jurassic Expedition. After about one hour of standing in line we got into the boat.
To start of everything was going fine, we went past a few herbivorous dinosaurs, but then everything went wrong.
We went into this building with gates that said ‘DANGER: Dangerous Animals'. At reading this sign I took one great gulp and prepared for what was about to happen. Up and up the massive ramp we went, velociraptors and the like either side of us, then we got to the top.
In front of us was a T-rex. We went towards it and we fell through a hole between its legs. We plummeted 60ft into a large pool of water. I can say that it was one of the best experiences I have had.
The final thing that I did that day was going onto ‘The Incredible Hulk'. My Mum and I got into the line for what is supposed to be the greatest rollercoaster in the world. The twenty minutes were nerve wrecking as we could hear the screams of those already riding the ‘coaster.
Eventually we reached the top and got into the carriage. I had totally forgotten that this was the only ‘coaster ever made to shoot off at the start of the journey. We were zooming at nearly 60mph when we reached the first loop, this fist loop was done in under two seconds. The second was the largest and it dropped into a pitch black hole which led to the last run of the ride. This was the first roller coaster that I have felt dizzy after coming of, but funnily the dizziness felt good. This was the best day of my life.
