Review:
Elfie runs away but is rescued and taken to The Pig and Whistle where she becomes the eleventh orphan that Ma looks after. At first Ma doesn't know whether to take her in or not but eventually she is persuaded to. Elfie has lots of adventures, but she does not like the Pig and Whistle very much at first so she runs away. She escapes into the streets of London but becomes very cold and smelly, and soon she is kidnapped by the Duguids who are desperate for a daughter of their own. Finally she escapes and she goes to the police who find the house where the Duguid's had kidnapped her.
My favourite character was Elfie. She's very adventurous, just like me. Adventurous characters help me to get into a book.
