Review:
The Eleventh Orphan by Joan Lingard is a good story about a little girl called Elfie who is in search of her parents. Joan Lingard uses incorrect speech to make the story more realistic because it is set in the past. She changes the setting a lot so the reader can get a feel of how London would feel for people in those times. The only thing I didn't particularly like about the book was the changes of speech, by this I mean when Elfie wasn't using the right words but it made the book more realistic, which the author would have wanted. Overall I thought The Eleventh Orphan was a good book and I would recommend it to someone my age.
