Review:
Join Elfie, an 11 year old girl, on a journey to find her long lost father whoom she has never met in her life. She cannot read or write and spent most of her life in a horrible orphanage. But why is there a watercolour drawing of the Pig and Whistle pub and a golden locket in Elfie's bag when she is taken to Ma and Pa Bigsby? Elfie is strong and determined but at the same time she is very sensitive. She will stand up for herself and for her friends but when Joe get slashed on his cheek by Froggy's gang Elfie decides it's time to run away again.
You'll find everything in "The Eleventh Orphan", kidnapping, escapes, friendship, fights, mysteries and much, much more. It is not an easy book for a very young reader because the plot is complicated and jumps from place to place a lot. However 10-12 year old girls as well as boys will quite enjoy this book.
