Review:
“Ostrich Boys” by Keith Gray is a fast paced noel which brings together a delightful mix of friendship and tragedy. It is the story of three best friends who have recently lost a fourth member of their group as he died in a car ‘accident’. The story follows the three boys as they journey from Cleethorpes on the English Coast to Ross in Scotland. They have to overcome many (humorous!) obstacles to reach their final destination and I found myself laughing out loud several times. Though on the surface it is a light hearted adventure novel, it is interwoven with a more serious plotline about how different people deal with the lost of a loved one. These two plotlines work well together to create a read which is both enjoyable and thought provoking.
