Review:
Hox is by Annemarie Allan. It has been short listed for the Royal Mail awards 2008. Hox is a modern day adventure book. Robbie (the main character) is 12 years old, who has to spend his weekends with his Dad at his Dads work, the Institute. One weekend Robbie was at the institute. He felt a connection with one of the cats, Baldur. He runs away up the Highlands with the cat Baldur and another cat called Freya. The cats and Robbie build a friendship. Robbie and his Dad finally understand each other. The book was exciting and Baldur was understanding to Robbie and made him feel better. When you were half way through the book you were eager to see what happened next. At first I thought that it would be rubbish because I thought it would be a boy’s book but I was wrong. The book was really good.
