Review:
Before I go any further you should know that if this book has taught me anything, it’s to never judge a book by the cover. When I saw the cover of Hox I automatically thought it was a boy’s book. I couldn’t have been more wrong! Reading isn’t really my thing. I have to admit I wasn’t too sure about the start of the book as I was a little confused. Usually I get bored reading books, but not with Hox. It was like stepping in quick sand. Once I started reading, I just couldn’t stop. I felt like was being pulled into the book and had to keep on reading. I loved the way Annemarie Allan developed the characters. When Callum appeared I thought “just another character” but within the next couple moments I was sitting open-mouthed. My favourite part has to be the epilogue when Robbie left the letter with “Thank You” on the envelope and ten pounds inside. I think Robbie had learned a lesson about honesty because he didn’t want to end up like his dad. The epilogue was extremely emotional and touching. Annemarie Allan has definitely changed my mind about reading.
