Review:
Darkisle is a superb novel about adventure, teamwork and most importantly friendship. It is written by D.A Nelson whose fantastic use of vocabulary and ability to keep the story flowing faster than running water is partly what makes the book so intriguing. The book has an enthralling plot that twists and turns like a whirlpool as it unravels.
At the start the story moves quite slowly but when Aldiss said in chapter three, "you're running away",the story starts to unfold at a terrifying pace, taking the reader along with Morag,Bertie,Aldiss and Shona on their epic journey of dark magic, courage and perseverance.
My favourite character is Morag as she is brave, loyal and knows how to stand up for herself.I also liked Aldiss as he said some very funny things and had a bright, vivid personality.
My favourite part of the book is when they are trying to escape from the cellar as it is mysterious and slightly humorous.
This is one of the best books I have ever read .I would recommend this to anyone who likes a bit of adventure.
