Review:
I liked Crusade because of the way it was written as it goes in alternate chapters. The main characters in the book are two boys, one called Salim and the other called Adam. Salim is a Muslim and Adam is of the Christian faith. Salim and a Jewish doctor flee from the crusade coming from England to the Holy land. Salim was training to become the doctor’s apprentice and because Salim had a lame leg, his dad wanted him to flee with the doctor.
Adam, on the other hand, is actually in the crusade that travels to the Holy lands, as his mother died and he had heard that the soil from the holy land spread on the grave of the deceased, sent them to heaven, and he promised his mother that he would go to the Holy land and get some of the sacred soil. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, as it was crammed full of twists and turns, exciting events and great descriptions of the various settings used throughout the novel.
