I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1984 and have been illustrating and writing books for children ever since.
About writer's work
I write and draw books for children and young adults; determinedly old-school, I write in a notebook and draw with pen and watercolours.

Current events and projects
I'm pretty flexible - in the main, I prefer to talk about how specific books are made ; from initial idea, through to finished item. I use powerpoint slides to show illustrations at various stages of completion, or to help when I read the actual story. I also draw 'live' on a flipchart, and sometimes get children to draw alongside.
