Jill Dow

Biography

Jill was born and brought up in rural Perthshire and, after studying art at Glasgow School of Art, then Royal College of Art, London, she became an illustrator, specialising in natural history subjects. In 1998, after completing the illustrations for 4 children's books written by David Bellamy, Jill decided to try her own hand at writing and, since then, has had 8 Windy Edge Farm stories published. In 1991, she returned to Scotland, and lives in Thornhill, near Stirling with her husband, 3 children and 2 cats.

Current events and projects

For pre-school and younger primary children: storytelling and art workshop. For older primary classes: illustrated talk detailing the process of writing and illustrating a book from initial idea to finished article.
