I am a writer and editor based in Glasgow. I work across poetry, theatre, and non-fiction, and am the editor of Gutter Magazine, Scotland’s magazine of new writing.

I have worked on projects across Scotland, Palestine and Egypt, facilitating creative collaborations, organising festivals, producing shows, editing books and magazines, facilitating translation and cultural exchange and most of all writing poetry. I’ve spoken at book festival around the country, and interviewed people ranging from Alasdair Gray to Leila Khaled.

My first book John Maclean: Hero of Red Clydeside was published by Pluto Press and was widely praised by the likes of Nicola Sturgeon and Jackie Kay, who called it ‘beautifully structured and brilliantly written’.

My poetry has appeared in magazines and anthologies internationally. I was a Clydebuilt poetry mentee in 2015 and I received a New Writers Award for poetry in 2019 from the Scottish Book trust. The same year I was artist in residence of Glasgow City Council in Pollokshields and am keen to further explore visual art in relation to poetry.

My non-fiction work focusses on the place of the radical left in Scottish art, life and politics, and has appeared in publications such as Jacobin and Open Democracy.
