My poetry explores Ireland's habitats, history, mythology, interwoven politics and religious stances alongside family dynamics and the general quirks of life that link the unexpected. I've won some slams, reached the Scottish final twice and also the BBC's Festival Fringe Final.

I have organised and hosted several for the Luminate Festival and judged a number of poetry competitions. My third collection Once upon a Quark (Red Squirrel Press) was launched in early 2019.

I am honoured to have my work Orbit installed in metal and stone on the beautiful Corbenic Poetry Path near Dunkeld and published in the accompanying anthology. I was the convener of the Federation of Writers (Scotland) 2016-2018, their seventh Makar (2014) and am currently on their committee.

Poems have been published extensively in outlets including Agenda, Mslexia, Magma, The Tablet, The Herald and The Scotsman. Festivals I have appeared at include Strokestown International Festival, Féile na Bealtine, Kilkenny Arts Festival and StAnza Poetry Festival.

I recently began an ongoing collaboration with Mary McCarthy, principal piano tutor in Scottish traditional music at the Glasgow Conservatoire. I have worked with older people in various care settings and regularly perform, read and engage with a wide range of audiences throughout Scotland.
