Welcome to Scottish Book Trust!

We are Scotland’s leading agency for the promotion of literature, reading and writing. We work with writers, children, teachers, librarians and readers from all backgrounds to spread a love of books and reading.

Our website is organised into five main sections:

  • In the pink Reading section, you will find book recommendations for all ages, our BookTalk podcast and news about exciting book-related events.
  • The orange Writing section focuses on our writer development programme which provides support, training and funding for emerging and established writers living in Scotland.
  • In the blue Learning section, teachers and learning professionals can find details about projects, events and teaching resources to bring literature alive in the classroom. There is also information about funding for author events.
  • In the red Bookbug section, young families will find details about our free book bags for under fives, how parents and babies can take part in Bookbug Songs and Rhyme sessions, and lots of ideas about sharing books with young readers.
  • Finally the About section contains everything you need to know about Scottish Book Trust.

We hope you enjoyed our tour. If you need help or have a question, please call, email or tweet us.
