Overview

Bookbug (formerly known as Bookstart) first came to Midlothian in 1999 and has flourished over the years.

Bookbug baby and toddlers packs are gifted by the Health Visitor at the child’s developmental check and MMR respectively.

Bookbug pirate packs are gifted at nursery when children are 3 years old. This is often gifted at celebratory pirate parties held by the nursery.

Bookbug’s Library Challenge

While at the Library why not join Bookbug's Library Challenge and be rewarded with a lovely certificate for reading your favourite stories. For each book read your child will receive a sticker with 6 stickers accumulating in a beautifully illustrated certificate.

Bookbug Sessions

All full time libraries in Midlothian hold regular free Bookbug sessions which children under four years of age can attend with their parent/carer to sing their favourite songs, their favourite rhymes and share a well loved story.
