Mindin the Weans
This booklet, shows what wonderful results can be achieved when a Poet and an Artist collaborate with groups of parents/carers to write about their little children.
What is clear in evaluating the success of this project is the fun that the parents had, while obviously sharing and learning a great deal together.
It was interesting to observe parents who had difficulties and were initially reluctant to commit pen to paper but who managed to overcome their difficulties because of their desire to express their feelings for their children. The prospect of having the opportunity to have something in print, something that would serve as a lasting legacy, writing something their children would be able to read in later years, maybe during difficult teenage years was really appealing. Parents felt that this little volume had the power to transport the very intense feelings they had for their offspring into the future. (Jo Leviten, Arts Development Manager)
