The New Writers Awards provides eight unpublished writers with financial support to enable them to concentrate on their work, as well as providing professional guidance to move towards publication.
"The New Writers Award has done wonders for my confidence and belief in myself as a writer. I am so grateful for everything the Scottish Book Trust has done to make this a great experience for me. Thank you." New Writer Awardee, 2008
“Because of this award I have a novel mentor and I don't have to work full-time. It’s really affected me and my writing and I think it's a fantastic scheme.” New Writer Awardee, 2009
Applications for 2010/11 are now closed.
