Application Guidelines
Who can apply?
Support is available to individuals and not-for profit organisations in every part of Scotland to host events or projects with writers. These include:
- Schools
- Libraries
- Community groups
- Arts organisations
- Local festivals
- Hospitals
- Prisons
Guidelines
- Applications are accepted twice a year through a simple application process.
- Organisations who are successful in gaining support decide which writer(s) they want to work with and how they want to work with them. Registered writers are listed on our Scottish Writers Database.
- There are no funding streams or priorities. All applications will be considered.
- Organisations apply for sessions (approximately one hour with a writer) and applications are accepted for one or several sessions.
- As the scheme is highly oversubscribed, Scottish Book Trust primarily supports well planned applications where the events or project fits within wider activity and has clear benefits.
- Applicants should also consider how to evaluate the success of their project.
How to apply?
- Plan your events or project carefully - we will look for evidence that you've thought about how you'll plan the events, how they fit in with your wider activity, who they'll benefit and how.
- Think about which writer(s) you would like to work with using our online writers database
- Apply on line or download an application form (and email the completed application to clare.rodgers@scottishbooktrust.com
