Best Day Ever by Emma Alexander
I remember when I was six and my mum took me to see Hear’ Say at the S.E.C.C in Glasgow.
We got the train through that day and I can remember saying ‘Are we there yet?’ We eventually got off the train which felt like it took ages but it really only took one hour.
I was really excited thinking that I was eventually getting to see Hear’ Say, but my mum said we had to get dinner first. I was starting to get impatient so I ate my McDonalds as fast as I could, now it was time.
Me and my mum went outside and got a taxi to the S.E.C.C, and when we were in the taxi I kept fidgeting but eventually we got there.
I stepped inside the S.E.C.C and right in front of me was the doors to get into the actual hall, I was ecstatic but the excitement didn’t end there. The bouncer came up to me and asked me if I wanted to go backstage, so I did.
When I got backstage I got Danni, Myleen, Kim, Suzanne and Noel to sign my t-shirt. I even got a picture with Kim who now plays Michelle in Coronation Street. After all the children had met them Noel told some children to go and told me and three ten year olds to stay behind. My mum had a worried look on her face and kept asking what we had done, and the bouncer just said nothing. Then Noel came up and said, later on in the concert our bouncer will come and get you and bring you four on stage. I was extremely happy about this. We left to go sit in our seats for the concert which was just about to start.
I was jumping up and singing along to all the songs because I knew all of them.
It was the break now so I went to the ‘loo’ then went and got a slush puppy before I went to my seat.
The second half was starting and I was getting closer to the best thing EVER happen to me.
There was another three or four songs before my big moment. I was so lucky, a six year old girl onstage in front of thousands of people ‘WOOHOO’
All the songs had been sung, I had been taken by the bouncer. It was my moment to shine.
We were just about to go on stage when Suzanne ran round to us picked me up and said ‘This is a mini-me.’ ‘Wow’ I thought. We had to sing ‘Hit me baby one more time’, then we were done.
I was disappointed when it was time to go home but over whelmed about what had happened. This was truly the best day of my life.
