The Association for Scottish Literary Studies

The Association for Scottish Literary Studies (ASLS) promotes the study, teaching and writing of Scottish literature, and supports the study of the languages of Scotland.

Established in 1970, the ASLS is a registered charity (SC006535) foundation-funded by the Scottish Arts Council. The ASLS publishes Scottish literature, both classic and contemporary, and supports its use in education. Provision of materials for students and schoolteachers is a key component of our work.

Amongst the resources that ASLS provides for schools are:

  • Texts
  • Study Guides
  • Teaching Notes
  • CPD courses
  • Audio CDs
