Scottish Storytelling Centre and Network

The Scottish Storytelling Centre and Network is a national resource for encouraging and supporting oral storytelling for all ages. Our work celebrates stories and their role in supporting learning, literacy, language development and cultural understanding across all members of the community.

  • Use our information and advice services for developing storytelling activities to support the Curriculum for Excellence.   
  • Attend workshops and CPD Training at the Centre or in a local venue of your choice to help boost your own storytelling skills or those of staff, community members or children. 
  • Invite a storyteller to your school or community venue – choose from over 100 working storytellers located across Scotland.
  • Become a member of the Scottish Storytelling Forum to receive information on projects and events, discounted entry to workshops, invitations to network gatherings and to access shadowing and mentoring opportunities. 
  • Visit the Centre for a storytelling event in the Global Bothy or John Knox House, or arrange a story tour on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.
