Scottish Book Trust and Templar Publishing were delighted to present American author Don Calame and his hilarious teen novel, Swim The Fly.
Swim The Fly is the laugh-out-loud teen hit of the summer from Hollywood screenwriter Don Calame. Published in the US in September 2010 it has been a New York Times bestseller and word of mouth sensation with teenagers.
Don talked candidly about the boys' mission for the summer and the issues it raises as well as the journey that each of the characters take with the pupils who were lucky enough to come to this event.
This event was an hilarious breath of fresh air for teen readers just before the summer holidays.
Feedback:
Can I just say how much we all loved Don Calame’s visit – he was great with the kids and they really enjoyed hearing his stories related to his book! We chose quite challenging students for his visit but he handled them wonderfully and there was a real buzz about his book afterwards. Coral Grant, Teacher, Craigmount High School
