Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour with Mara Menzies

In June, the Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour will bring amazing storyteller Mara Menzies to visit Reception to P7 pupils across South Wales for an inspiring week of events!

Storytelling is a magical experience that takes people on journeys to familiar worlds and some beyond their wildest imaginations. Mara explores how storytelling can unite people and regardless of where we are from, we can find commonality in our stories. Mara Menzies Craigroyston

Drawing on her rich dual heritage, Mara will share stories that enthral, delight and light up the eyes. Her interactive, physical style engages every audience member and enables us to see the true power of storytelling. In her belief that everyone is a storyteller, children will also have the possibility for sharing stories, through exercises using just the imagination.

Mara has told stories in schools, libraries and clubs across the globe using song, dance and music as well as the spoken word. We hope Mara’s events will encourage children in Wales to find inspiration for stories in their own lives and heritage as well as delving into their own imaginations through the magic of storytelling

This is a fantastic opportunity for your pupils to meet one of Scotland's foremost Storytellers and gain insights into the power of storytelling
