Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour with Keith Gray
In October, the Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour will bring award-winning author Keith Gray to meet pupils in Lincolnshire for an inspirational week of school events!
Keith grew up on the east Coast of England and was definitely the best tree-climber at school, but probably one of the worst readers. His journey took him from reluctant reader, to passionate reader, to dedicated, award-winning writer. He has written books for children and young adults, including The Runner, which won The Smarties Silver Medal, and Ostrich Boys, which was recently adapted for the stage! Keith has published several books with Barrington Stoke, which specialises in dyslexia-friendly fiction.
During this event, Keith will use his own books and background to talk about how fiction works as a reader and a writer – what makes reading important and how authors can create fun, engaging stories. Keith will arm your pupils with some brilliant writing tools and engage their imaginations. We actively encourage you to share this opportunity with your most reluctant readers, as well as those looking to hone their writing skills further.
A brilliant opportunity to meet one of Scotland’s most straight-talking authors; this event is sure to inspire, stimulate and provoke discussion among pupils and perhaps open up the world of books for pupils who may not currently consider themselves readers or writers.
These events are FULLY FUNDED and all secondary schools in Lincolnshire are invited to apply.
