Scottish Friendly Book Tour With Elizabeth Wein

In June 2016 the Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour visited Norfolk with the fantastic award-winning author Elizabeth Wein!

Elizabeth is one of the UK's most inspiring and colourful fiction writers and the tour set its sights on her latest series of novels about young female pilots. Exploring themes of war, friendship and survival Elizabeth's event threw light on the lives of women who have overcome great odds in times of war.

Sharing her insights with 380 pupils the length and bredth of Norfolk, including a special session at FLY Literature Festival, Elizabeth discussed setting, plotting, structure and research. She also shared her own inspirations for becoming a writer and her experiences as a published author.

The sessions were engaging and inspiring. Pupils eagerly absorbed all the skills and advice on writing gripping fiction before hands flew up and Elizabeth was bombarded with questions.
