2017-18 School Residencies

Scottish Book Trust is delighted to announce the ten schools awarded fully funded author residencies in 2017-18, and the authors, storytellers and creators who have been appointed to work with their pupils.

The schools were chosen by an expert panel to receive:

  • 12 sessions with an author at no cost – including two staff CLPL sessions with the author
  • A £500 grant for resources and supplies 
  • Support from Scottish Book Trust’s experienced team
  • Their project showcased on our website, as well as suggested learning resources and next steps after the project to help the school and learning professionals make the most of the sessions

The full list of schools receiving fully funded author residencies are:

  • Ayr Academy, in South Ayrshire, will work with Claire McFall
  • Caskieberran Primary School, in Fife, will work with John Fardell
  • Craigentinny Primary School, in Edinburgh, will work with Janis Mackay
  • Craigroyston Community High School, in Edinburgh, will work with Claire Askew
  • Drumchapel High School, in Glasgow, will work with Cathy Forde
  • Glenbrae Children’s Centre, in Inverclyde, will work with Ruth Kirkpatrick
  • Kilpatrick School, in West Dunbartonshire, will work with Ailie Finlay
  • Knightsridge Primary School, in West Lothian, will work with Christina Banach
  • Langlees Primary School, in Falkirk, will work with Alan Bissett
  • Our Lady’s Primary School, in Stirling, will work with Nick Hesketh
