What is Live Literature funding?
Deadlines for 2010/11
29th January 2010 for sessions planned to take place between April 1st and November 30th 2010
30th September 2010 for sessions planned to take place between December 1st and March 31st 2011

LLF is a national initiative to enable Scottish citizens to meet and engage with writers, playwrights, poets, storytellers and illustrators

Scottish Book Trust subsidises 1200 LLF sessions a year in a range of organisations all over Scotland

Over 380 people are available to carry out events and projects - they are all listed on Scottish Book Trust's searchable Scottish Database you can also use any of the Storytellers on the Scottish Storytellers' Directory

Scottish Book Trust funds readings, workshops and residencies as well as new and imaginative ways of working

Funding is for half of the author's fee plus their travel and expenses. Each author is paid £150 per session (generally lasting an hour). Successful applicants (host organisations) will pay £75 plus VAT per session
The aims of the scheme
- To develop audiences for literary events in Scotland
- To support Scottish writers/illustrators/storytellers at all stages of development in their career
- To increase people's ability, confidence and enjoyment in reading and writing
- Encourage people in more diverse reading choices
- Promote reading and writing as fun, creative and educational activities
