Oisin McGann: The Wisdom of Dead Men
Oisin McGann’s book, Strangled Silence, was shortlisted for the Falkirk RED awards and he came over from Ireland especially for the ceremony. We thought it would be a shame if we just let him fly home again without even asking if he would be prepared to do an extra two events in Scotland.
On 28th January we took Oisin McGann to West Lothian where he did two events - one at Amrmadale Academy and the other at Inveralmond Community High School.
You can find out more about Oisin and his work on his website.
Audio Interview with Oisin McGann
Listen to Oisin McGann talk about his time on the tour, his book Strangled Silence and writing in general.
Pupil Feedback:
"Oisin McGann's visit was a good one. He gave us advice and tips on how to become an author. Oisin told us to carry a notebook because you never know when you'll get a good idea and it's handy to have." Ross, age 13, Armadale Academy
"If I ever get stuck on an essay ever again, I can refer to the advice Oisin gave me during his talk." Scott, age 13, Armadale Academy
"Oisin McGann inpsired me to write and draw." Katie, age 13, Armadale Academy
