Lemony Snicket: An Unfortunate Event
We were delighted to start our 2010 events programme with international superstar, Lemony Snicket.
Lemony Snicket is the author of A Series of Unfortunate Events, which have sold 60million copies worldwide, been translated into a multitude of languages and even made into a Hollywood blockbuster.
In front of almost 800 children at the Queen's Hall, Edinburgh, Lemony Snicket entertained the crowd with readings from his books, tales of darkness and even played and sang a song on the accordian (luckily there was an accordian in the audience).
You can read an interview with him in The Scotsman as well as pieces in The Herald and The Times.
Read Jasmine's blog from the event here.
NEW: Watch a short highlights video from the event.
Feedback from schools:
He was brilliant – extremely funny and the kids haven’t stopped talking about him – our P5 teacher said it is the best outing he has had in his seven years teaching and hasn’t stopped grinning!!
Sally Hood, Librarian, Edinburgh Academy Junior School
The organisation and atmosphere were wonderful - and the children were thrilled, enthralled and delighted!
The bus was so quiet on the way home as they all started to read their new books!
Katrina Lucas, Teacher Comley park Primary, Falkirk
