Days like this by Lewis W Bell

A happy day was the day I went to survival camp with the scouts there I learned a lot. I learned how to be a leader and telling people how to build a table out of logs. I also learned how to gut and skin a rabbit. And how to build a bivay which is a tent with no doors on sides just a roof and a floor. The day began by draining the bivay of water after that we had breakfast then Daniel arrived with two boxes with four rabbits in each. First the main leaders showed us how to gut and skin a rabbit.

After that while they wear cooking we start to get poles to billed the table so we came back had a little rabbit and surprisingly it tastes just like chicken. Well not like chicken but not bad. How to build a table it isn't hard but sure is long. You can ether do it like an A frame on a frame but we did a tripod on A frame. We split up in groups. My group built the tripod which is pretty easy to build. You tie all three poles together with a clove hitch and wrap the rope around the poles. The poles sit and the table poles have to be tied to the A frame and the tripod with a square lashing which starts with a clove hitch but was supposed to start with a timber hitch. After that we had tea and then a camp fire which is where we sing songs for a bit. Later about 6 of us plus 3 leaders played ‘wide'.

Wide is a game of hide and seek in the dark in the woods. The rules are when they see you go back to the start. You win by being the closest to the leaders. The game stopped early because out of the 6 that came only two were left. The other four left with out telling anyone. The main leader James was very angry so I went to bed but Brian moved the bivay somewhere so I stayed in someone's bivay only to have been waken up by other Leaders arriving.
