Crash by J. A. Henderson
Crash
by Jan Andrew Henderson
Category 3: Older readers (12-16 years)
About the book
Who the hell is Dodd Pollen?
Bobby Berlin needs to find out. Because his father has woken up convinced he’s a teenager with that name. He thinks the year is 1977 and, for reasons he can’t explain, he’s obsessed with getting to the Tay Bridge.
But the journey to the bridge turns into a terrible ordeal for Bobby. His father’s behaviour is increasingly sinister and the events unfolding around them are as mystifying as they are horrific.
Bobby Berlin has GOT to get rid of Dodd Pollen.
Before Dodd Pollen gets rid of HIM.

About the author
J.A. Henderson lives in Edinburgh where he runs City of the Dead Ghost Tours – which requires him to look moody and wear black a lot. After writing several non fiction and children’s books, he turned to teenage thrillers.
He specialises in dark and twisted plots that don’t go where the reader expects. Unless they expect the worst….
His other young adult titles are Bunker 10 and Crash, ingenious, fast-paced thrillers that have had tremendous reviews. Collectively these titles have been shortlisted for nine book awards including the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize and the Angus Book Award. On the 18th November 2008 Bunker 10 was announced as winner of the 2008 Royal Mail Award.
His new thriller Colony is now out.
