yesBiography:
Margaret Thompson Davis has forty novels published and also over two hundred short stories published and broadcast in this country and overseas. Two of her novels have been adapted for the stage, The Breadmakers Saga and Rag Woman, Rich Woman. Rag Woman, Rich Woman made theatre history when several people fainted and had to be carried out of the theatre. One the people that this happened to was the drama critic of the Glasgow Herald.
Her own favourite novel is A Darkening of the Heart because Robert Burns is one of the main characters. She is a great fan of the poet and thoroughly enjoyed writing the book .
One of her latest novels is called A Deadly Deception and it is her first venture in to crime fiction. A Deadly Deception is a suspense thriller and reviewers have said that it is her best book and is a television drama almost as it stands.
More recently, she had a book published called Goodmans of Glassford Street. It has proved so popular that it is being reprinted. She has just complted a new book which was written in collaboration with her son, called 'Red Alert' set at the Glasgow school of art which her son attended.
She was presented, on behalf of the citizens of Glasgow, with the Lord Provost’s award for literature and for ‘bringing Glasgow’s history to vibrant life.’
