Biography:
Originally from Northern Ireland, I came to Scotland to study at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee from where I graduated, in 2004, with a BA Hons in Illustration & Printmaking. My illustrations have featured in concerts for the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Theatre of Scotland and most recently the Picture Kelpies range with Floris in Edinburgh. Working in a variety of materials I enjoy using many different media to create tactile images. I currently live in Edinburgh.
About writer's work:
I mainly work in Children’s book illustration. Areas that I am most excited about are funny, quirky narratives which have peculiar characters in extraordinary situations I enjoy creating new, unusual creatures and places that are imaginative and exciting where the reader can escape to. My illustrations are usually created with traditional materials like pen and ink and watercolours, I enjoy getting a bit messy doing everything by hand before I scan the work into the computer. Themes which spark my imagination the most are fairy tales and fantasy.
