Diana has published two books of poems plus two pamphlets. Many of her short stories have been published in journals and read on BBC Radio 4. She has published more than forty books for children. She has worked as a journalist, an English teacher and a tutor in creative writing at the University of Bristol and for the Arvon Foundation. Following a year as writer in residence at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary she moved from Bristol to Edinburgh where she now lives. She is an occasional book reviewer for The Spectator.

Diana’s most recent collection of poems was concerned with borders – both geographical and emotional.Awards include a Whitbread Award for a junior novel, Harvey Angell; a SAC Award for a sequel, Harvey Angell Beats Time; lst prize in the Housman Society Poetry Competition and, with Hamish Whyte, a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship.
