About writer's work:
Ginger Nut is my first, and so-far, only book. It was inspired by the question - ‘what is Scottish?’ Apart from the obvious, my two answers were redhead (or gingers as they are more commonly known in Scotland) and a certain orange fizzy drink. As a redhead myself, and coming from a predominantly ginger family, I wanted to write a little differently about being ginger. Unfortunately children, and even adults, with ginger hair are often teased and made fun of but I’ve always loved redheads! Ginger Nut is also about feeling left out and different, which is something that I think every child feels at some point.
