Biography:
Angus Peter Campbell is an award-winning poet, novelist, journalist, broadcaster and actor. Born in South Uist he now lives in the Isle of Skye, with his wife and six children. He is an Honours graduate in Politics and History from the University of Edinburgh. He was awarded the Bardic Crown in 2001, the same year he was given a Creative Scotland Award. His Gaelic novel An Oidhche mus do Sheòl Sinn (2004) was short-listed for the Saltire Scottish Book of the Year, and was also publicly voted in 2006 by readers of the List Magazine into the Top Ten of the Best-Ever Books Written in Scotland. He was given a BAFTA Scotland Award in 2007 for Best Actor Nomination for the lead role in the Gaelic film Seachd.

He writes of celebrating survival in a diminishing world. Sorley MacLean said of him "I have no doubts that Angus Peter Campbell is one of the few really significant living poets in Scotland, writing in any language." (WHFP 1992) His latest poetry collection Meas air Chrannaibh/ 'Fruit on Bra(i)nches' (2007), a trilingual collection in Gaelic, Scots and English has been reviewed by Meg Bateman as "a wonderful collection, simultaneously humorous and profound" Susan Mansfield of The Scotsman described the reading of his poem 'Ceàrd na Bàrdachd Gàidhlig' ('The Gaelic Poetry Tinker') at the StANZA Poetry Festival in as "the most insightful, passionate, humorous manifesto for the role of poetry that I've heard in a long time."
