2008 Creative Writing Competition

Creative Writing Competition BookStarting in 2008 we ran a creative writing competition for teenagers. We were delighted with the number of responses we received. The winners were announced by Keith Gray, our first Online Writer in Residence, at a ceremony at the National Library of Scotland on 31 March 2009.

The overall winner was Emma, for her story The Death Predictor. The shortlisted writers were presented with a book of their stories, and Emma personally presented a copy for the NLS collection. Click here to see the entry in the NLS catalogue.

 

The runners up were Mathias (Alone) and Louise (The Heat of Time). The three are pictured below with Keith Gray:
