Tripwire is about a secret organisation, Minos, that recruits people aged 15 to fight a terrorist group called Orpheus. The government has only allowed this organisation to exist because of "Day Zero". The day on which Heathrow Airport was bombed.
We find out about the organisation through the eyes of a 15 year old boy, Felix Smith, seeking revenge for his father who was killed on Day Zero.
This is a cleverly written book with many climaxes and danger at every corner. It will keep any reader on the edge of their seats and will surprise them with a few twists. The story does move quite fast and the reader cannot afford to miss any section. The plot also contains a lot of detail with many important events happening in quick succession meaning that the reader may have to re-read a couple of pages if they are restarting the book after a long break from reading. Nearing the end of the book Felix finds himself in what seems to be an impossible situation which leads to a great climax.
The ending is quite satisfying. However just when the reader thinks the story is finished, the authors slip in a sentence which will leave you wanting to know more.
I recommend Tripwire to people interested in crime and thrillers.
