The London Eye Mystery is a good book for anyone who likes a puzzling storyline.
Ted and his older sister Kat have relatives visiting from Manchester. They make good friends with their cousin Salim and decide to take him to see the sights of London. A stranger offers them one free ticket for the London Eye which he can’t use, so Kat and Ted give it to Salim. He starts his journey on the giant wheel, but when the pod reaches the ground 30 minutes later, and everybody exits, Sam is nowhere to be seen. Ted and Kat have to use every clue available to find their missing cousin.
I think the story is probably aimed at readers around the age of 11 but keen younger readers should still be able to follow the storyline. The wording is not too complicated but still very interesting and descriptive. The reader is drawn into the story, imagining, just like Ted and Kat, many different explanations for the disappearance of Salim. It is almost as if you are right there with them, helping to solve the mystery.
The story is very well written and realistic. You are kept guessing about what will happen next. The ending is so unexpected and very clever. I enjoyed reading The London Eye Mystery and would rate it 5 out of 5.
