Dead Man's Cove - Lauren St John
Dead Man's Cove - Lauren St John

When Laura Marlin, an orphaned girl currently living in Sylvan Meadows Children’s Home, discovers that an uncle she never knew she had claims her, and invites her to live with him in St Ives, she is finally looking forward to having a different and more exotic life.
Her uncle sets no rules so she can be free to do whatever she wants, but he sets one rule and one rule only; never take the coastal path that leads to Dead Man’s Cove.
As the reader progresses through the story, Laura meets a small but very important crew of characters who provide more pieces to the jigsaw of the plot.
Lauren St John certainly does a good job with the arrangement and usage of words. The book seems small but the story is big. It is really easy to read with the occasional difficult phrase or sentence. The characters tend to blend in with the setting and plot.
Lauren St John takes the secrets and surprises and releases them in short spurts of words and imagination; the ending of this book will take you completely by surprise.
I really enjoyed this story because it fused together real-life situations with fiction. When reading it you may think you know what one thing is but it sometimes comes out the complete opposite. This book was definitely not disappointing and certainly left me wanting more. I would definitely recommend this book to people who like reading detective stories. I would give this story a 4/5.
