The Bookstart Impact - The Importance of Early Years Parenting
The Bookstart Conference, held on 10th September 2009, was hailed a great success by delegates, with several commenting that it was the best conference they had ever attended.
Speakers included Michael Russell MSP, Minister for Culture, External Affairs and the Constitution, Suzanne Zeedyk, Child Psychologist at the University of Dundee, Dr Harry Burns, Chief Medical Officer, and Det Ch Supt John Carnochan, Head of the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit.

Bookstart in Scotland Day
Bookstart in Scotland Day 2009 was held on 21st May, with the theme of Bookstart in Scotland’s Birthday. Thousands of free events were held across the country, featuring Bookstart Rhymetimes, party games, story sessions and craft activities, and some events even received a special visit from the Bookstart Bear!
