The Egg Thieves

It was Lecky Grant who saw the egg thieves leaving. Something wakened him early that morning. His house was opposite the pine wood where the ospreys had their nest. Osprey eggs are very rare. People drive hundreds of miles to raid a nest. At one time the birds were wiped out altogether. Now Lecky's determined not to let it happen again: no egg thieves in his village!
