An cur-seachad diamhair aig Ciorstaidh Oighrig Mhoireasdan MA / The secret hobby of Kirsty Effie Morrison MA
Miss Morrison seems an ordinary enough primary school teacher. Now nearing retirement, she lives in the school-house in the North End of Skye, does her washing every Saturday morning then drives her noisy wee car to Portree for the weekly shopping, marks jotters every weekday afternoon, and then, if the weather’s fine, goes out for a spot of illicit fishing. But poaching is not her secret hobby.
It all began when she was a young girl, on the day she made a bargain with the mischievous fairies that inhabit the hillocks of Skye. It’s a highly enjoyable hobby, and completely harmless – until, that is, one of her pupils finds out about it, and the whole of Primary 7 determines to creep over to Miss Morrison’s house while she’s in Portree, to try it out for themselves!
