The Bus is for Us
Books about buses and other types of transport are often a hit with children! This book has a nice rhythm to it, and both the girls in the video like to join in and echo some of the words at different points in the story.
The pages at the very start and end of this book are a great prompt for discussion. As we watch the bus driving off into the sunset, we can imagine where the bus is going and what adventure everyone is off to next.
Like the mum in the video, you can ask children where they think the bus is going to next. After you’ve read the book a few times and children are familiar with the story, you can revisit different pages and ask children their thoughts and ideas – would they like to ride on a bear? A fish? How else would they like to travel? There is lots of scope for discussion.
