Over the past six months, Cathy Forde, has been our Virtual Writer in Residence. As well as giving us a monthly blog, Cathy has been making video podcasts where she presents simple creative writing tasks in an attempt to encourage teens to get writing. Sadly Cathy's residence has come to an end, but as she tells us - there is an exciting new project on the horizon...

A.G. Taylor has just had his first novel, Meteorite Strike, published in the UK. We were lucky enough to have him along to do an event with us last week. When he left us here in Edinburgh he was off to Dublin. Despite being unbelievably busy he found time to write us a blog about what life is like now that he's a published author. Thank you A.G. I’m glad that January is over. I normally am, as it always feels like such a long, dragged-out month, cold and dull. The best thing about it is noticing the days stretch a little longer, a sign that Spring is not too far away.

Saci Lloyd dropped into Scottish Book Trust HQ yesterday (Monday 1^st February) to launch her brilliant new book The Carbon Diaries 2017. Saci and the students had an interesting discussion about climate change, what it means to them and how it will affect the future.
