Secrets and Confessions: submit your stories now!

Category: Reading

Are you ready to 'fess up?

It’s that time of year again – we want your stories!

This year the theme is Secrets and Confessions so get thinking about what you want to get off your chest…

The Brief

Did you spend you spend a summer trying to teach your guinea pig Morse code? Do you have a hidden desire to become an astronaut?

You can choose to write about any secret or confession, big or small, as long as it’s true and something that you’ve experienced. Everyone has something they haven’t shared with anybody else and we’d like to hear from experienced and first-time writers alike.

We welcome entries in any format – short story, poem, play, letter or comic strip – and in English, Scots and Gaelic, but they must be 1,000 words or less. All submissions that meet our criteria will be shared with the world on our website and our favourite stories will make it into a free book for Book Week Scotland 2016.

The closing date: midnight on 22 June. Full terms and conditions here.
