Bookbug Baby Pack

Thank you for your support in gifting Bookbug Packs.  We would like to ensure that every parent who receives a Bookbug pack is given a consistent message about book sharing.  We hope that you find the information below useful when gifting the packs.

For babies aged 6-16 weeks

The Bookbug Baby Pack is a fantastic introduction to sharing books with babies from birth. The pack includes; 2 sturdy board books, a CD of songs and rhymes, 1 buggy book, a Bookbug Baby's calendar, Every Day's A Learning Day booklet and a library joining form all held within a strong canvas bag.  

Please note that the canvas bag is for parents and is not suitable for babies to use unattended.

How are these packs gifted?

Packs are usually gifted to parents when their babies are around 6 – 16 weeks, by the health visitor.
 
If parents do not receive a pack in this way, we ask them to contact their health visitor or ask at their local library.
 
Parents do not have to register and do not have to join the library to receive the Bookbug Baby Pack.

• Canvas Bag - a high quality, ethically produced and environmentally friendly canvas shoulder bag.
• Two board books – bright, durable and safe for little hands and mouths!
• Bookbug Baby's Calendar - as well as being a lovely calendar that parents can use to plan the year, the publication includes lots of reading tips, book recommendations and tips from play@home. The calendar also includes baby record pages for parents to record their baby's firsts and favourites. 
• Bookbug’s Songs and Rhymes CD – a wonderful collection of different songs and rhymes for parents to enjoy with their baby. The songs and rhymes found on this CD can also be heard at local Bookbug Sessions.  
• Out and About buggy book - a colourful buggy book with lots of things to spot when you are out with your baby.  The book can be clipped on to your buggy or pram. Produced in partnership with Road Safety Scotland.
• Every Day's A Learning Day - a brilliant book designed to highlight that daily life is bursting with many learning opportunities for your child right from the moment of birth.
• Library Joining Leaflet - A baby is never too young to join the library! Parents can return the completed form to their local library, then start borrowing books for free.  Parents can also sign up for Bookbug email alerts to remind them when their next Bookbug Pack is due. Click here to download a copy of the library joining form.
