The Bookbug Baby Pack is a fantastic introduction to sharing books with your child from birth. The pack includes 2 sturdy board books, a musical CD and a Parent’s Guide all held within a strong canvas bag. 

All the items in our packs are carefully selected to encourage reading and writing.

Please note that the canvas bag is for parents and is not suitable for babies to use unattended.

Where can I collect my free Bookbug Baby Pack?

Packs are usually gifted to babies at around 6 – 16 weeks by their health visitor or are available from your local library.  If you have not received your Bookbug Baby Pack please ask your health visitor or at your local library.

Gifting methods vary in each local authority, so please visit the Local Contacts section of this website for more information about how the Bookbug Baby pack is gifted in your area.
 
Please note that you do not have to register and you do not have to join the library to receive your Bookbug Baby Pack.

  • Bookbug Baby Parent’s Guide – a publication featuring interesting articles on sharing books, celebrity interviews and expert advice to help your little one enjoy books from an early age. Includes a colourful pull-out poster designed by Bookbug creator, Debi Gliori.
  • Bookbug’s Music CD – a wonderful collection of different music and songs from around the world to enjoy with your baby.  The CD is helpfully arranged with music for every part of baby’s day from waking-up to bedtime.
  • Out and About buggy book - a colourful buggy book with lots of things to spot when you are out with your baby.  The book can be clipped on to your buggy or pram. Produced in partnership with Road Safety Scotland.
  • Library Joining Leaflet - Your baby is never too young to join the library! Simply return the completed form to your local library, then start borrowing books for free.  You can also sign up for Bookbug email alerts to remind you when your next Bookbug Pack is due.
