'Just a note to say how much we all enjoyed Charlie Higson. It's a great idea and we are looking forward to Philip Pulman.' Alison, Woodmill High School

‘A fabulous, highly motivational event. Our primary 6 and 6/7 classes are highly engaged with the live author events. The Higson one really captured the interest of boys who are more reluctant readers and we have built a whole series of activities inspired by the event. We are looking forward to the Philip Pullman event in December.’ Claire, St Nicholas Primary School

‘I was impressed by the content and responses to the questions. The boys in the class were hooked and have asked for the books to be bought for the school library.’ Moira, Musselburgh Primary

Feedback from P4-7 pupils at Nethermill Primary School

As a small country school just outside Dumfries in the south-west of Scotland we do not get the opportunity to visit such events as "Authors Live". Therefore we thoroughly enjoyed watching Charlie Higson talking about his new book. It so enthused the children that I was asked to buy them the new book for our class library!! Some of the comments from the children are as follows:-

"It sounded fun but scary". "It was very adventurous and I like adventurous books". "I liked hearing about the zombies and I enjoyed seeing the children dressed up. It was a bit scarey!". "I liked when the boy in the book tried to beat up the headteacher!"

As their class teacher I was most impressed with the children's enthusiasm and we look forward to our next scheduled link with "Authors Live" which is with Jacqueline Wilson. Thank you for giving staff and pupils the chance to participate in our own small way!!
